Grande Prairie Forest Area

The Wildfire Hazard for the Grande Prairie Forest Area is currently HIGH.

Recent rainfall in some parts of the Grande Prairie Forest Area has been significant enough to reduce the wildfire hazard, however it remains high in areas that did not receive the same amount of rain.

A Fire Advisory that was issued for the Grande Prairie Forest Area has been lifted.

Permit requests are once again being accepted, however permits for heavy fuels will be evaluated on case-by-case basis. To obtain a permit, or for more informaiton on permits call the Grande Prairie office at (780)538-5560.

Call 310-FIRE if you see smoke in a forested area

Fire Bans and Restrictions are in effect throughout several areas of Alberta and all of BC. Before you head out into a forested area check AlbertaFireBans.ca to see a detailed map of fire advisories, restrictions and bans throughout the province.
